Why Our Students Love Prep with SSA
“The [camp] experience they shared with these kids was one of the best experiences they’ve had.”
-Aurelius, parent: His sons improved 620 and 480 points, respectively.
Aurelius’ twin boys came two years in a row (2011-2012) to SSA.
“The SAT is something that I shouldn’t be scared of or discouraged about.”
- Lexi, student
“Without SSA, I don’t think I would have had any motivation to do well on the SAT exam, nor would I have done well at all. I want to thank you not only for giving me essential study guides, but for also teaching me that the SAT is something that I shouldn’t be scared of or discouraged about. Academically, SSA definitely helped me develop efficient test-taking techniques and a sound knowledge foundation, and it also let me have fun while I was learning.”
“You don't realize how much you're learning until you see how much your scores improve each week.”
- Sarah, student
“Why I'd recommend SSA to someone else:
1. You don't realize how much you're learning until you see how much your scores improve each week, because the teachers really do make it an enjoyable experience.
2. Everyone is enthusiastic about the SAT because they know how important it is to do well on this test.
3. It's fun to live with new people and make new friends, and it's reassuring to know that you're all in this challenging program together.
4. It is not a competitive environment, even though it's the SAT.
5. You get to live in dorms and have a roommate, which is a great way to see what it's like to be in college.
6. The teachers are also your counselors.... or more like really smart friends that are there to help and support you, both in and out of the classroom.
7. The weeks I spent at SSA were honestly some of the best three weeks of my life. It was a life-changing experience.
8. ALYSSA. She's the best. That is all.❤️”
“SSA summer SAT camp at Colgate went beyond my expectations for a few reasons.
One, my sons are a little bit shy, and I wasn’t sure how they would adapt to being with a group of students who weren’t from the area for 8 hours a day and for three weeks, but the experience they shared with these kids was one of the best experiences they’ve had. They loved interacting with those students, they got close to them, and they actually loved and looked forward to coming to the program each and every day.”
