BEST for those dead set on prestigious universities!
Online SAT bootcamp. Daily class is based on the Oxford model: The instructor teaches strategies, after which students try them first assisted and then on their own. After this period, students rejoin the instructor to give feedback and receive the next module from the strategies. Students implement the strategies first assisted and then independently, and then meet again with the instructor for feedback. Class proceeds accordingly as a mix of practice and immediate and delayed feedback, so that students are able to hone both strategies and critical thinking skills.

Additional Info
SSA’s application of the Oxford model mandates alternation between periods of discussion/instruction and specific, targeted practice. Discussion/instruction will be on Zoom; alternating periods targeted practice, in order to help the student master the challenge of taking the test alone, must necessarily happen without direct teacher supervision. Because students are switching back and forth many times a day between feedback/instruction and targeted practice, students should assume that their entire four-hour time block is devoted to the SAT: Whether receiving instruction or completing an assignment for the next meeting, students should be fully focused on the SAT and in a place where they will not be distracted. This sustained, exclusive focus on the SAT, in a private, quiet location, is essential to mastery of the strategies.
Students will take 2 proctored practice tests, on Saturdays from 10a-2p, according to the above schedule. During this time, they should be in a quiet place that resembles a testing environment as much as possible, in which they can work uninterrupted for the duration of the practice test.
Each student will be mailed a binder of SSA-specific strategic material. Because the SAT is a written test, students must get in the habit of working with pencil and paper.
